Educational Journey Through Malwa: From Knowledge to Social Progress

August 23 @ 6:30 am - 5:00 pm

The trustees of the MEO Educational Welfare Awareness Trust, Indore Shamsuddin Chishti, Advocate Mohammad Sharib Khan, Abdul Hafeez Banarasi, Mohammad Asif Mew, and Muhammad Ayub Khan Mew : set out from Indore for an educational and social journey to Ratlam, Alot, and Mandsaur.

This journey was not merely a journey; it was a beautiful caravan of knowledge, humanity, social relationships, and mutual encouragement. On the way, near Betma village, our caravan stopped at a hotel, where we enjoyed hot poha, jalebi, and low-sugar tea. With the freshness of the morning and the warmth of our companionship, our caravan continued towards Ratlam.

Upon reaching Ratlam, we met the respected father of Firoz Bhai, the District President of the Mew community, as Firoz Bhai was out of town at that time. After meeting him and inquiring about his well-being, our caravan proceeded towards Alot Tehsil. Upon reaching Alot, our first meeting was with Advocate Luqman Khan Mew.

His junior, Ms. Nasreen Khan Mew, had earned her LL.B. degree with excellent marks. She also earned the distinction of becoming the first woman lawyer from the Meo community in Alot. It was a matter of great happiness and pride for us to see a daughter enter the legal profession through hard work and merit.

To encourage her, we welcomed her with a flower garland and congratulated her on her achievement. We also discussed her early legal career, educational journey, and future plans. Our purpose was not merely to meet her, but also to encourage young people, especially daughters pursuing education and professional careers.

Advocate Luqman Khan Mew arranged lunch for us at his home. We reached his residence at around 1:30 p.m., where he welcomed us with great affection, warmth, and hospitality. The meal included traditional Malwa-style baati, dal, sweets, salad, chutney, and various delicious dishes.

His affection and hospitality made our journey even more memorable. After this, we also met another trustee of our Trust residing in Alot, Mohammad Margob Khan Mew, popularly known as Munna Bhai. Munna Bhai took us to his farm. He showed us his fields and shared various details about farming and agriculture. The atmosphere connected with village life, farms, land, and hard work added a unique beauty to our journey. Afterward, Munna Bhai took us to his home, where he had already arranged refreshments for us.

We told him that we had already eaten a substantial lunch and therefore could not eat much more. However, in the face of his affection and warmth, we had to accept his generous offering. We had some refreshments and enjoyed tea with him.

His hospitality and sense of belonging will always remain a memorable part of our journey. At around 3:00 p.m., our caravan left Alot for Mandsaur. After approximately two hours of travel, we reached Mandsaur at around 5:00 p.m. In Mandsaur, our first meeting was with a distinguished and capable personality of the Mewati community, Mr. Nehru Khan Mew. Mr. Nehru Khan mew is the proprietor of N. K. Engineering & Electricals and has established a distinct identity in Mandsaur through his hard work, success, and service to humanity. In recognition of his contributions to the Mewati community, he is popularly referred to as the “A.P.J. Abdul Kalam of Mandsaur.”

He had recently returned from the blessed journey of Hajj. We warmly welcomed him with flower garlands and congratulated him on completing Hajj. We then listened to his experiences from his sacred journey and discussed what he had learned from it and which memorable moments remained closest to his heart. We also had an in-depth conversation about his social activities and service to humanity. The way Mr. Nehru Khan mew is working hard, serving humanity, and bringing recognition to the community while successfully managing his business is truly admirable and worthy of emulation.

The success of such individuals is not merely their personal success; it becomes an example and source of inspiration for the entire community and the younger generation. At around 7:00 p.m., our caravan reached the renowned Hotel Savera Dhaba in Mandsaur to meet Mr. Asgar Khan Mew, the State President of the Mew community in Mandsaur. Hotel Savera Dhaba is a well-known destination in Mandsaur, and Mr. Asgar Khan Meo is particularly known for his warm hospitality.

During our meeting, we had detailed discussions about the progress of the Mew community, education for young people, social development, and the initiatives that could be undertaken in the coming days. We also discussed how the younger generation could be encouraged to move forward in education and how deserving and needy children could be supported.

During the conversation, the famous tea of Hotel Savera Dhaba was served. We enjoyed tea together while continuing our discussions about social issues and future planning. We became so engaged in conversation that we hardly noticed the passage of time, and before we knew it, it was around 9:30 p.m. Afterward, we decided to have dinner at the same Hotel Savera Dhaba.

Whenever our journey takes us towards Mandsaur, Rajasthan, or other areas in this direction, we usually try to have dinner at Hotel Savera Dhaba. This time as well, we enjoyed tandoori roti, dal, and the hotel’s famous chilli paneer. After dinner, we once again enjoyed tea with Mr. Asgar Khan Mew and continued our conversation for some time. The most beautiful aspect of this meeting was that our conversation was not limited to food and social interaction. Its central focus was the progress of the community and concern for the better future of coming generations.

At around 10:30 p.m., we began our return journey from Mandsaur to Indore. Throughout the journey, we continued discussing the day’s meetings, educational initiatives, social relationships, and memorable moments. At approximately 2:30 a.m., we all safely returned to Indore. Indeed, this journey was much more than an educational tour for us. It was a journey of knowledge, humanity, affection, relationships, and encouragement. During this journey, we encouraged a talented daughter pursuing education and a professional career. We met various distinguished personalities of the community. We listened to the experiences of hardworking individuals. We observed closely the lives of farmers and people connected with the land.

We discussed the progress of the community and the education of young people. And above all, we strengthened the bonds of mutual affection, brotherhood, and togetherness. Every educational journey undertaken by the Meo Educational Welfare Awareness Trust is guided by the same vision: wherever we go, we should give importance to education, encourage the younger generation, support deserving and needy children, and work together for the betterment of society.

We firmly believe that the true progress of any society does not depend solely on buildings and businesses. A society progresses when its younger generation is educated, its youth are capable, its daughters move forward, and its people stand by one another. With this vision, our caravan continues to move forward.

Our message is clear:

Acquire knowledge, serve humanity, encourage one another, and lead society towards progress.

Knowledge • Humanity • Service • Unity

This is our vision. This is the purpose of our journey. And this is the true identity of our caravan.
